Schingoethe CenterCultivating Creative Community The mission of the Schingoethe Center is to foster inquiry, celebrate artistic excellence, preserve and perpetuate Native American cultures, and inspire a lifelong engagement with the visual arts. The Center is an agent of and catalyst for teaching and learning on the Aurora University campus. The museum provides cultural and historical enrichment that builds bridges, stimulating an exchange of ideas between the classroom and the world beyond. The museum also serves the broader community of the western suburbs with unique exhibits and programs which continues a 100 year tradition of valuing the arts. The Schingoethe Center is an art museum known for its Native American collection. Our distinctive and relevant exhibitions feature both Native American and Non-Native American artists in solo and group shows. The Center’s exhibits are enhanced by programing featuring authors, artists, and cultural experts. All exhibits and programs are free and open to the public.
